We, as two Afghan Canadian women, were present at the Remembrance Day ceremony with a banner in remembrance of Afghans murdered by the Canadian military operations. We were not responsible for the alleged disruption of the Moment of Silence…
i’d just like to give a big shout-out to canada for allowing me to afford my medication even though i live in america. thanks canada.

Speaking specifically about Canadian politics, I am increasingly tired of the whole Ministerial process. We have a Prime Minister that promotes butt-boys and yes-women to portfolios that they have no prior experience with: i.e. Flaherty in Finance — a man that likely needs help to balance his own cheque-book. Then there are token Ministers of every ethnic minority that are appointed precisely because they are minorities, Parliamentary Secretaries that seem to be drawn from a pool much like the “secretary pools” of days gone by, and strategists (that are currently serving MPs) who constantly tell us what questions we “should be asking”. Here’s a thought….or a few….how about the Government appoint people with specific experience to portfolios, actually have those Ministers answer questions rather than their “secretaries” and answer the question that was posed rather than constantly reframing it!!!!! Here’s a final suggestion: if the person that was appointed to a portfolio isn’t doing their job properly, FIRE THEIR ASS!!!

HMCS TORONTOHMCS TORONTO Ship’s Captain Commander Steve Virgin (left) returns to his ship on a Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) following a chief of staff meeting on the Danish warship HDMS OLFERT FISCHER. The TORONTO and several other NATO vessels in the Indian Ocean just off the coast of Somalia are set to begin a piracy interdiction patrol in Somali waters.
Autumn in Toronto is my favourite.
